May I Tell You a Secret?
A little while ago, while I was shopping, a woman asked me a question.
I didn’t know the answer, but we had a friendly exchange because she needed a smile.
I gave her a copy of “My Secret.”
When she saw the title, she asked,
May I tell you a secret?
Her 24-year-old son died in a car accident a few weeks ago.
Since then, she has been visiting churches looking for help with her grief.
What perfect timing for the Lord to bring us together in this “accidental” manner.
Will you pray with me that she will find Jesus Christ who can save and comfort her
Peg has lung cancer.
The kind that claimed her father a few years ago.
But she isn’t going to let that stop her from serving the Lord with every breath.
This week she ordered copies of “My Secret” to give to the others in her chemo suite.
Will you join us in praying with Peg that the Lord will use her testimony and “My Secret” to bring hope and peace through Jesus Christ to the people and their families?
One of the early answers to prayer connected with this project came in the form of a rainstorm . . .
Most of the verses of the poem were with a photograph which expressed its meaning, but verse 3
Is all your laughter genuine,
A gift of God’s good grace?
Or does it hide a troubled heart,
A tired and teary face?
was still standing alone. It needed something to symbolize tears – raindrops . . .
Raindrops on a window . . .
Raindrops on a window with sun lighting them up . . .
Raindrops on a clean window that had a pretty view with sun lighting them up.
Dear God, will You please send some rain soon for this picture. I need it to rain hard enough and long enough that there will be a lot of raindrops on the window, but gently enough for a short enough time that the drops will still be distinct. And will You please send sunlight behind them to highlight them? And, one more thing, will You please send the rain in a direction that it will get on a clean window with a pretty view?
